El Pais, Uruguay, December 2, 2008— The national newspaper deemed Lions SightFirst cataract program the "Other Operation Miracle."

Houston Community News, Texas, USA, November 19, 2008—The Crosby Lions Club celebrates its one year anniversary, highlighting the main initiatives they support, including the SightFirst program and emergency relief efforts.

The Ethiopian Herald, Ethiopia, November 16, 2008— MalTra week, a week long malaria and trachoma control program, was announced. Lions helped launch the event and distribute medication to 5 million people.

The News & Observer, North Carolina, USA, October 22, 2008—A sophomore from North Carolina State University raised funds to provide eyeglasses and cataract surgeries to people suffering from blindness in rural areas of India.
