The family and women’s chairperson oversees the recruitment and participation of family and women Lions within their district and multiple district.

Responsibilities:
▪ Develop new community projects
▪ Conduct educational seminars
▪ Compose articles for district, multiple district and international publications
▪ Mentor and encourage clubs

Symposium Grant 
Holding a symposium provides opportunities for family and women involvement in Lions. To help alleviate costs, Lions Clubs International offers a symposium grant up to US$2,000 per symposium, with a maximum of US$4,000 per constitutional area. Family and women chairpersons may apply according to application guidelines and the Rules of Audit outlined in the Symposium Planning Guide (pdf).

Awards
District Family Pins are awarded to district governors and family & women’s chairperson who meet the following criteria during a fiscal year:

· One crystal pin - district must add 30 new family members or one new family Lions club composed of at least 40 percent family members
· Two crystal pin - district must achieve both 30 new family members and one new family Lions club of at least 40 percent family members

Family Membership Banner Patches are awarded to clubs adding 10 or more new family members during a fiscal year 

United in Service Pins are awarded to district governors and family & women’s chairpersons for achieving a net increase of 25 or more women during a fiscal year.
