Over the last ten years, the LIONS Eyeglass Recycling Centre (Queensland) Australia, Inc. formerly known as the Kippa-Ring Morayfield LIONS Humanitarian Project, Inc. (South East Queensland Recycle for Sight Centre), has collected approximately 1 million pair of spectacles and shipped over 650,000 pairs of spectacles to the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Sierra Leone, Western Samoa and the islands of the Pacific.  During this time they have shipped five containers of medical equipment to a hospital in Asia.

Collections of spectacles come from the eastern seaboard of Australia (except Sydney), from Adelaide to Cairns.
