Club Twinning
International Project

Leos are both generous and creative when implementing community service projects. Listed below are a few examples of successful Leo service projects.

USA, its affiliates, Bermuda, and the Bahamas

  • Onekama Leos, Michigan, USA, planted 900 daffodil flower bulbs in an 80-acre public park.  
  • Members of the Albion Leo Club, Indiana, USA, scrubbed moss, mold, and tree sap from 110 headstones in a local cemetery.

Canada

  • The Calgary Millennium Leo Club, Alberta, Canada, sponsors a child in Romania.
  • The Shilo and Area Leos, Manitoba, Canada, helped to paint the playground equipment at a local school.

Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and South America

  • The Trujillo las Qunitanas Leos, Peru, distributed chocolates and sweet rolls to children working in the streets.   
  • The Barva Leos, Costa Rica, dressed as clowns and entertained children at a local orphanage.

Europe

  • Members of the Ferrara Leo Club, Italy, sold chocolates to raise funds for the Special Olympics. 
  • The Leos of Monchengladbach, Germany, used a photo of a local school on their advent calendar. The windows and doors of the school photo opened to reveal vouchers from local sponsors. All proceeds were donated to the school. 

 Orient and Southeast Asia

  • The Digos City Leos, Philippines, helped government healthcare workers provide 25,000 measles vaccines and distribute 17,600 Vitamin A tablets to local children. 
  • The Temasek Junior College Leos, Singapore, organized a beach clean-up activity. Eight hundred students participated in the daylong event.  

India, South Asia, Africa, and the Middle East

  • The Kathmandu Alliance Leos, Nepal, organized a tree planting activity on World Environment Day, June 5. 
  • In Bangladesh, the Dhaka Gandaria Leos organized a tree planting activity at a local secondary school.

Australia and the South Pacific

  • The Leos of New Zealand sponsored a fashion show for young designers. The fashions featured recycled materials. Similarly, the Lions of Australia created a Trash2Fash event.
  • Members of the Mooroolbark Leo Club, Australia, entered a vehicle in the Chariot for Charity race. The contest raised funds for a local children's hospital.
