Eastern Europe Project
Eberhard J. Wirfs
First International Vice President

Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest and most dynamic volunteer service organization, with 1.3 million members belonging to 45,000 Lions clubs in more than 200 countries. For nearly a century, Lions have been helping change the world for the better by responding to local and global humanitarian needs.

Though we come from different countries and cultures, we Lions share a core belief: Community is what we make it. We believe the best solutions to societal problems and to humanitarian needs happen when men and women come together in a spirit of voluntary service. And because of the personal commitment and sense of responsibility held by each Lion member, our global network of Lions clubs is indeed making the world a better place.

In eastern parts of Europe where the need for voluntary service is growing, we are embarking on a major effort to organize more Lions clubs and to welcome more men and women into our organization. This Web site introduces you to the Lions Eastern Europe Project (EEP), to its leaders and to the wonderful opportunities we can offer to individuals who want to serve mankind and further develop their personal abilities in doing so. We look forward to hearing from you.
